BETWEEN TWO WORLDS: ACULINARYJOURNEY
As a Chinese foodie who has lived abroad for 12 years, cooking has become an indispensable part of my life-a comforting and rewarding creative process. In this still life photography series, l have chosen a classic Chinese home-cooked dish:stir-fried tomato and scrambled eggs. This simple yet iconic dish is easy to prepare, pairs well with rice, noodles or soup, and holds cultural significance with its vibrant red and yellow hues.symbolizing the colors of the Chinese flag. In this series, l aim to showcase the journey from ingredients-tomatoes.eggs, spring onions, and garlic-to the finished dish. By presenting these elements in visually engaging ways, l hope to convey the harmony betweenfood and culture. Red and yellow dominate the color palette, while accents of blue and white symbolize the colors of the French flag, representing my current life in France.
This series is not only an exploration of my passion for food but also are flection of my current life status and my deepening enthusiasm for still life photography. Through vibrant colors, thoughtful compositions, and cultural symbolism, l hope to evoke warmth, nostalgia, and an appreciation for the beauty of everyday life.
